Run in with the law seems to have become an everyday event for the Khan family. While Salman Khan has had his run in with the law and legal battles for decades. Now, his younger brother Arbaaz Khan has also joined in after being accused and brought for questioning in the recently exposed IPL betting case being led by the Thane police.
In a developing narrative, it has now been discovered that Arbaaz might have lost Rs 2.8 crore while betting in one of the previous Indian Premiere League tournaments. The prime accused bookie in the case, Sonu Jalan, who apprehended earlier this week, was the one who dragged Arbaaz in the betting arena as they were friends from before.

Add to that, after Arbaaz lost the bet or bets, his friend and bookie Jalan apparently blackmailed him to pay up or else he would out his name to the world. According to a report in The Times of India, the 50-year-old actor lost an approximate amount of Rs 2.80 crore in his IPL bets and had to paid Rs 3 crore to Jalan.
A senior official told TOI: “Arbaaz Khan placed bets during one of the past IPL seasons through Jalan. In those days, Jalan was working with a big bookie who went by the name Junior Calcutta. Subsequently, there was a huge transaction between Jalan and Khan. Apparently, Khan was blackmailed into paying crores, the threat being that his gambling habit would be exposed. But all this will be probed once Khan gives his side of the story.”
However, the lead officer of the case – investigating inspector Pradeep Sharma told TOI: “Nothing concrete can be said on this as of now. We need to corroborate it with evidence and statements of those who are linked with the racket.
